How it works

  1. Open the stage

    The Desk is an iPad or a Mac. It knows where you are — You’re back at The Kings Arms · your 8th time here — and one tap opens the stage with its own eight-character code.

  2. Step the phones on

    Band phones enter the code and tap Step On Stage; you tap Let them on. Friends and family scan a QR and film from an App Clip — nothing to install, no account. Phones on the team never need approving again.

  3. Check the room

    Load-in lines up every phone’s battery, storage, picture and look. Check the room measures what the venue’s Wi-Fi really carries, one phone and then all together, and the Desk recommends a quality from it.

  4. Hold to roll

    Line up NEXT, then CUT, MIX or DIP at ½, 1 or 2 seconds. Rolling starts every output you armed: the Photos recording and the streams. Phones go dark to save battery and keep filming; hold one to check the shot.

What it does

Live switching

NEXT and PROGRAM monitors, CUT, MIX or DIP at ½, 1 or 2 seconds, from the Desk’s own compositor. On a Mac: 1–9 line up, space cuts, return mixes, and a Program window for a second display.

Stream out

Straight to YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Kick or any RTMP/RTMPS server. Sign in to YouTube or Twitch and ROLL makes the broadcast for you. The bitrate follows the uplink; 2160p to YouTube.

Every angle kept

The Desk’s cut goes to a Ropu album in Photos. Every phone records its own full-quality angle, whether it’s on air or not. One timecode across all of them.

Sound

Any phone’s mic, the Desk’s mic, or a USB-C interface off the sound desk, lined up with the picture and held there for the whole set.

Remote camera control

Zoom, exposure, focus and locks for every phone from the Desk. Pinch on the phone and the Desk’s slider moves with it.

Cinematic look

On iOS 26 phones: shallow depth of field with the aperture set from the Desk. Tap a face on the monitor to keep it sharp.

Follow on a stand

Put a phone on a DockKit stand and it follows the person you tap. Hand or Follow, four presets, Home, and six shot sizes from full to extreme close-up.

Guest cameras

A friend scans a QR and films from an App Clip. No install, no account, nothing left behind. Band phones join a saved team and skip approval.

Works without the venue

Venue Wi-Fi first, direct links when there isn’t any. The Desk can hand its Wi-Fi to the phones with a QR, and Check the room tells you what the network will carry.

Knows the venue

The Desk remembers every place you’ve played and reads your diary, so tonight’s stage opens already named.
